The syndrome no one told you about (and you probably have it)

Let’s name something you’ve probably felt but maybe not said out loud:

The 4pm crash that coffee doesn’t touch anymore. The brain fog in a meeting where you used to be the sharpest person in the room. The wired-but-exhausted feeling at 11pm when your body won’t let you sleep. The sense that your patience has a shorter fuse than it used to — with your team, your kids, yourself.

If you’re in your 40s or 50s, it’s easy to file all of this under “perimenopause” and move on. And hormonally, yes – a lot of this tracks.

But here’s what often gets missed: chronic urgency makes it worse.

Running a company or a team means your nervous system rarely gets the “stand down” signal. Adrenaline becomes your baseline. And when that’s layered on top of a body already navigating hormonal shifts, the result isn’t just tiredness — it’s a full-system strain that most of us have been taught to just push through.

Nutritional biochemist Libby Weaver calls this Rushing Woman’s Syndrome — and it’s the focus of our August book club.

Thrive through Perimenopause

This isn’t a self-care platitude book. It’s a look at what chronic “on” mode actually does to your body, and more importantly, what to do about it.

We start the first week of August. Grab a copy, and stay tuned, I’ll walk through exactly what we’ll be covering and why this timing (perimenopause + peak leadership years) makes this such an important read.

Your guide to transformation,

Jenn Greer

P.S. If any of what I described above landed a little too well, you’re exactly who this book club is for.
